National Management Day Celebrated as Utkarsh-2019 at Modi College
The faculty of Business Management of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today celebrated ‘National Management Day’ – Utkarsh-2019 in collaboration with College Alumni Association. The day was focused on the subjects of ‘Business Development and Idea Generation’ and ‘Portfolio Management’. Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Head, Department of Business Management formally introduced the resource persons Dr. B. B. Singla, Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Ravi Singla, Department of Applied Management, Punjabi University, Patiala. He also discussed the objectives and vision of devoting a day for celebration of Management.
Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, College Principal welcomed the resource persons and congratulated the department of Business Management for conceiving this unique idea of celebrating the National Management Day. He said that in the era of artificial intelligence and big data it is important to work on thinking process of humans in a skillful and productive way. Management is a way of life to think creatively and in a humane way.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. B. B. Singla said that innovative ideas with a strategic management plan are necessary for success of startup ventures. Dr. Ravi Singla discussed the significance of Portfolio Management and the construction of a positive image of a personality or a business. He said that in this era of cutting edge competition in the field of business, it is compulsory to engage with market research techniques and marketing strategies. The department of Business Management organized two competitions for the students. In the first event ‘Business Startup Plan Competition’ three teams of students from the department participated. The first position was shared by two teams. In the second competition ‘Portfolio Management – Virtual Stock Market’ two team of the students participated. A team of students conducted the stage and presented the vote of thanks. All faculty members of Management department and teachers from other departments were present on this occasion.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ‘ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਡੇਅ : ਉਤਕਰਸ਼-2019’
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਬਿਜ਼ਨੈਸ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਅਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ‘ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਡੇਅ : ਉਤਕਰਸ਼-2019’ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂੰ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦਿਵਸ ‘ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਬੀ.ਬੀ. ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ਼ ਮੈਨਜਮੈਂਟ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਰਵੀ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ਼ ਅਪਲਾਈਡ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ। ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਬਿਜ਼ਨੈਸ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਥੀਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਆਰਟੀਫ਼ਿਸ਼ਿਅਲ ਇਨਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਗ ਡਾਟਾ ਨੇ ਬਿਜਨਸ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉੱਥੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਦਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ. ਬੀ.ਬੀ. ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਿਜਨਸ ਮਾਡਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੌਲਿਕ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੱਧਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਲੀਕੇ ਗਏ ਸੰਯੋਜਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਪਲਾਨ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਰਵੀ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਂ-ਪੱਖੀ ਅਕਸ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੋਰਟਫੋਲੀਓ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪੋਰਟਫੋਲੀਓ, ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਜਾਂ ਬਿਜਨਸ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੂਤਰਧਾਰ ਬਣਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਦੋ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਨੇ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਬਿਜਨਸ ਸਟਾਰਟਅੱਪ ਪਲਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਯੋਗਤਾ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ ਤਿੰਨ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੋ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਦੂਜੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ, ‘ਪੋਰਟਫੋਲੀਓ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ – ਵਿਰਚੂਅਲ ਸਟਾਕ ਮਾਰਕਿਟ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
